8/20/25
Hi Everyone -
Hope everyone had a good summer and is ready for another year of scouts.
If you aren't planning on returning to scouting this year, please reply to this email to let us know and you will be removed from future emails.
Per usual for most kickoff emails, there's a lot of information below. Please don't hesitate to reach out via email if you have any questions.
FIRST PACK MEETING / RECRUITMENT
Our first pack meeting will be on Friday, September 5th at 7pm in Unity Hall. We will have a lego pinewood derby for current and prospective scouts. Scouts will take turns building cars out of legos and racing them down the pinewood derby track. Please spread the word about our pack - our website has good info about our program: pack3904.com
POPCORN FUNDRAISING
We will be selling popcorn again this year to generate funds for our pack. All of the belt loops, pinewood derby cars, crafts, snacks, etc are paid for out of the funds we raise. We are asking each scout registered on Aug 1 2025 to sell a minimum of $200 dollars worth of popcorn. If you do not want your scout to sell popcorn, you can opt out and pay $68 directly to the pack. All popcorn information will be sent in a separate email soon. New scouts this year are not asked to sell popcorn.
POPCORN KICKOFF
We will have a quick popcorn kickoff meeting on Monday September 8th at 6:30pm in Unity Hall. During this meeting scouts will sample the popcorn they will be selling, go over the prizes they can earn and we will answer any questions.
CAMPOREE
The council camporee is September 19-21 at the Sandwich County Fairgrounds. Our affiliate Scouting America Troop 904 already has a spot reserved for us to camp with them, and the Troop will be providing meals for all who attend. If you do not wish to partake in the meals the Troop cooks, you can purchase meals from the council for $20. Check out the Camporee website for more information and to register: Council Camporee - Pathway To Adventure Council
PACK "CLASS B" T-SHIRTS
In scouting, "Class A" uniforms are the full standard uniform, and "Class B" uniforms are a pack t-shirt. We wear Class B uniforms during activities that might be messy/hot/etc or when traveling as a group. We have a new design for this year's class B shirts and are taking orders. Adults are more then welcome to order shirts - each shirt is $15 dollars and can be ordered here: https://forms.gle/Mpy3AB67fhvhcKL36
UNIFORM EXCHANGE
If you have extra Cub Scout gear from the level your Cub Scout recently graduated from please bring it to the pack meeting on September 5th. Items to pass on could include: uniforms your Cub has outgrown, handbooks, hats, neckerchief slides etc… A younger scout and their family would really appreciate your generosity! Those who donate will be given preference to receive donated items, but receiving a donated item is not guaranteed.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Our scouting program is completely volunteer run, and our goal for this year is to solicit more parent volunteers. Would you like to help the leaders out with organizing pack meeting snacks, pinewood derby, general pack meetings, etc? If so, please reply to this email and we'll add you to an email list of parents who are willing to help us out. If you aren't able to volunteer but have feedback about our program (positive or negative!), please share it here: https://forms.gle/Dct3VKtHvyDSVshw7
